Patrol Recorder

The patrol recorder is the primary interface used by when patrolling road sections. A separate form is used for routine/year round patrols and winter patrols. The conditions identified during patrols form the basis for reports and work orders in other sections of the program.

Routine Patrol Recorder

The Patrol Recorder records deficiencies found during patrols, as well recording the fact that the road was patrolled so that the program can prompt users when roads are over due for patrol. The Patrol Recorder contains a button for each of the year round deficiency types descibed in the Ontario Regulations. When clicked, these buttons bring up the New Deficiency screen, which allows the user to enter further details.

Adding A Deficiency

The new deficiency form automatically fills in the date found, based on the internal calendar, and repair deadline based on Ontario Regulation 239/02. Some deficiency types also prompt the user to select the sub-asset affected (for example if a warning sign deficiency is selected, the user is prompted to choose the specific warning sign from a list of the warning signs present on that road section).

Winter Patrol Record

The Winter Patrol Record is based on the OGRA winter patrol form. Patrollers can enter pavement and air temperatures, ambient weather conditions, a winter event condition, and other information in a general comments section. Conversely, all of these can be left blank at the patroller’s discretion.

At the beginning of either a routine or winter patrol, the user enters weather information which is permanently attached to that Patrol Record.
