Electrical Designer Draftsperson:
We are seeking an Electrical Designer Draftsperson to join our engineering team in our Stratford, PEI location. The successful candidate will support our multidisciplinary engineering team, will be responsible for the preparation and production of electrical engineering designs, drawings, schematics and related technical information using AutoCAD, Inventor and other software tools.
Position Responsibilities:
- Providing electrical drafting on all engineering projects. Working closely with design originators, preparing drawings of unusual, complex or original designs with a high degree of precision.
- Developing and preparing engineering designs and drawings from a variety of sources including; preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations and specifications, external suppliers, electrical/process/instrumentation drawings and other data.
- Producing drawing types including but not limited to; schematics, circuit diagrams, controls and mechanical layouts of electrical equipment and systems.
- Completing documentation packages and producing drawing sets to meet contractual requirements and milestones.
- Checking and verifying design drawings are correct and conform to specifications and design data. Working with marked up drawings and performing necessary corrections.
- Producing Electrical CAD drawings using AutoCAD for accurate and detailed drawings to defined customer or business standards. Utilizing AutoCAD’s object attributes for maintaining drawing information available for extraction and importing.
- Investigate, develop and implement design and drafting process improvements.
- Coach others on established design and drafting practices to preserve efficiency and quality.
